People's Stories
The Bible says in Psalms 77:14,
‘You are the God Who performs miracles; You display your power among the peoples’.
I was working on a day shift roster as a gravure printer when my workmate and I ran into a problem with our press. I went upstairs to the machine to fix the broken web which was located in one of the 8 hydraulic steel doors.
While I was still fixing the problem, my workmate accidentally pressed the switch, closing the hydraulic door with my left arm still inside. It happened so fast that I didn’t have time to pull my arm out.
It was such a terrifying experience knowing that my arm was trapped inside. All I felt was a sudden pain that turned into numbness. At that time, I had no idea if there was any damage to my arm. There could be broken bones or nerves.
When I was finally able to get my arm out after more than 10 seconds, the affected area was completely black and blue. All I did was pray to God and trust the Lord that all will be well.
I was taken straight away to the hospital by a colleague and while in the car, I kept on praying and hoping that the Lord will do a miracle. When the nurse checked my arm, the initial diagnosis was that nothing was wrong with my arm. The colour became normal again! I was given two Panadol and underwent an x-ray as precaution as it was a work-related accident.
According to the doctor who analysed the result, it was just a simple bruise - no broken bones or nerves!
I praised the Lord all the way back to work and I praise Him daily for He is still the same God who performs miracles among His people! Glory to Him forever and ever!
